Products That Contribute to Green Building Certification

Construction Specialties products are designed to help project teams earn LEED, WELL, and BREEAM credits — whether through improved daylighting control, recycled content, indoor air quality contributions, or reduced building maintenance cycles.

Recycled Aluminum Construction

Louver, sun control, and grille products use a minimum 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum content. Fully recyclable at end of building life with no hazardous disassembly requirements.

Reduced Maintenance, Extended Life Cycle

Acrovyn wall protection systems eliminate repeated gypsum board repair cycles. A single installation typically lasts 20+ years in high-traffic corridors, cutting lifecycle waste and labor costs.

Daylighting & Solar Heat Gain Control

Fixed and operable sunshade systems reduce HVAC loads by controlling solar heat gain coefficients. Engineered to ASHRAE 90.1 compliance with building simulation data available for energy modeling.

Low-VOC Coatings & Indoor Air Quality

Wall protection products meet GREENGUARD Gold certification requirements for VOC emissions — important for schools, healthcare, and sensitive occupant environments where air quality standards are mandatory.

Industries We Serve

Construction Specialties products are specified across every major building type where performance, durability, and code compliance are non-negotiable.

What Architects & Specifiers Say

Common Questions from Architects & Specifiers

Are Construction Specialties products available with CSI MasterFormat specs?

Yes — every product family has a complete CSI 3-part specification available for download from our Resources page, formatted for direct insertion into project manuals. BIM objects in Revit and IFC formats are also available.

Do you provide samples before I specify a product?

Absolutely. We supply finish samples, material coupons, and performance data sheets at no charge to architects and specifiers. Submit a sample request through our contact form and a regional specialist will follow up within one business day.

What testing standards do Construction Specialties louvers meet?

Our architectural louvers are independently tested to AMCA 500-L (free area and pressure drop) and AMCA 511 (wind-driven rain). Storm-rated models also achieve Miami-Dade NOA acceptance for hurricane-exposure categories.

How do Acrovyn wall panels contribute to LEED certification?

Acrovyn products can contribute to LEED v4 credits in Materials & Resources (recycled content, regional materials) and Indoor Environmental Quality (low-emitting materials — GREENGUARD Gold certified). We provide documentation letters for LEED submissions.

Can expansion joint covers be specified for seismic zones?

Yes. Our seismic expansion joint covers are engineered for three-dimensional movement in seismic zones 3 and 4, with movement accommodation up to ±100mm in horizontal, vertical, and transitional directions. ICC-AC156 tested configurations available.

What is the typical lead time for custom-finished products?

Standard stock colors ship within 2–3 weeks. Custom RAL or anodize colors require 4–6 weeks depending on product family and quantity. Contact your regional representative early in the construction documents phase to confirm lead time for your project.

Ready to Specify or Sample a Product?

Our regional specialists are architects' go-to contacts for product selection, specification writing support, and project submittals. We cover commercial, healthcare, education, and government projects globally.
